MTV Music Channel
MTV is a non stop music entertainment channel that was launched on the 1st February 2011 and is owned and operated by Viacom International Media Networks Europe. MTV Networks Europe announced the idea of a non stop music channel in January 2011. The channel launched in both the United Kingdom and Ireland replacing MTV Shows. The MTV Music channel later launched in Italy on the 1st March replacing MTV Plus. The audience for MTV is mainly 13-20 year olds both genders.
4Music
4Music is a music and entertainment channel in the United Kingdom and some Television providers in the Republic of Ireland. The channel replaced the hits when it launched on the 15th of August 2008, it is available on Freeview, Virgin Media and Sky. 4Music airs programs such as Todays 4Music top 10, official top 20 and UK top 40. 4Music has a broader audience of 13-35 due to the range of music they play.
VIVA
Viva(VIVA) is a music video and entertainment channel in the United Kingdom and Ireland. The channel replaced TMF when it launched on the 26th October 2009. The channel is owned by the same company that owns the MTV music channel, Viacom International Media Networks Europe. The audience for Viva ages between 13-20 the channel is very similar to MTV as they often air the same television programs and genres of music.
Scuzz
Scuzz is a british music television channel launched on the 17th April 2003 and is one of the highest rated rock TV channel in the UK. It is owned and operated by CSC Media Group (Sony Pictures Entertainment). Scuzz broadcasts mainstream rock, pop punk and metal specialising in the hardcore and metal genres. The channel plays many exclusive music videos for their first time as well as live concerts for example, Slipknot. Scuzz often have band take overs, which is where artists present music video shows and talk about what the liked about the song/video. The audience for Scuzz is very genre specific ageing between 15-25.
Kerrang!
Kerrang! TV is a digital television channel that is loosely connected to the magazine Kerrang, the channel is owned by Box Television. Since 2005 all of the programme content is music videos where people are able to text in requests that they can add to the playlist. The playlist is mainly metal and pop punk/skate punk. Kerrang! is very similar to Scuzz in the sense that the audience ranges between the age of 15-25.
